What if...?
Question:
My pet doesn’t know sit or stay. Is that a problem?
Answer:
Not at all! Some of my favorite portraits are of pets standing up. And rest assured, I have a DEEP well of unique sounds and tasty treats to grab their attention—even if it’s just for that split second while I capture each image.
Question:
My dog can’t be off leash. Can I still do a session?
Answer:
Yes! Absolutely! Believe it or not, many of the dogs that I photograph are on leash. Leashes not only keep your best pal safe, but they’re also important for following local laws when photographing in urban environments. Thanks to the wizardry of Photoshop, leashes will be removed from most final images.

Question:
What about harnesses or gentle leaders, can those be edited out?
Answer:
I recommend using them while walking to our location, but also bringing a flat collar to use for the actual shoot. If you need to stick with the harness or gentle leader but would like it edited from final images, there is an additional retouching fee. However, digital removals for leashes, regular flat collars and martingale collars are always included.

Question:
How long is the photo experience?
Answer:
The photo session is a half day experience. But don't worry, it's not going to be 4 hours continuously taking photos! I normally do 1 hour and 30 minutes of photos, then take 1 hour break. In that time you can either go back home and make yourself comfortable, make a coffee or a tea, and I will choose the 30 photographs that we will look at together when I return. I will have a projector with me so we can watch them directly on your wall. This is when you will choose your favourites and start seeing what they will look like on your walls! Sooo exciting!
Question:
My dog is super reactive to other dogs/people/bicycles/noises. How can we do a session?
Answer:
I completely understand; the world can be a scary place for all of us sometimes. If your dog is nervous or reactive, we can choose a location that suits thier temperment. I have a few out-of-the-way locations that receive very little dog or foot traffic, or we can rent the private studio or simply have the experience in the comfort of your own home where your furry baby feels safe and happy.

Question:
My dog is a never-ending ball of energy! How do you manage high-energy dogs?
Answer:
Our sessions never require your dog to sit, stay and behave for hours (or even minutes) on end. One of the benefits of hiring a pet-specific photographer is that we know how to work with “hyper” models and still deliver gorgeous images, jam-packed with personality.

Question:
Can I be in the portraits, too?
Answer:
Of course! I love documenting the wonderful connection between you and your dog. My clients especially love the candid images of the moments you share. If you’re especially camera shy, I can still create some lovely, creative images that tell the story of your relationship. Please just trust me, and remember that you don’t need to purchase or display any portraits that you don’t adore.
Question:
What time will our photo session be?
Answer:
Whenever you think is best. We can discuss this in our Discovery Call. All times are good. As long as everyone involved in the photography experience is happy and comfortable, then everything is fine!
Question:
How do I choose a location?
Answer:
It’s a big decision, but I’m here to help with plenty of recommendations. During our session-planning call we’ll discuss the look you’re after, any special needs your dog might have (mobility challenges, anxiety, etc.) and scheduling constraints on your part (e.g. mornings only). Our adventures can be indoors in a studio or outdoors in a park, or why not both. And if it rains, we will reschedule at a later date or only go ahead indoors. With all that in mind, we’ll settle on the perfect location for your photographic experience.
